William to marry

Buck Palace has announced that William and Kate are to marry next year, everyone here at the blog wishes them the very best for their future happiness.

The wedding is due to be held in the spring/summer of 2011, no doubt the NZ tourism board will be holding its breath that the royal nuptials, and global press attention, will not take any focus away from the Rugby World Cup.

Tourism dollars are bound to be headed for Britain this summer, leaving little spare cash for trips down under. New Zealand is still reeling from the effects of the British increases in passenger departure taxes

The world will be in the grip of British royal wedding fever for months to come and the focus on Britain is likely to remain as preparations for the 2012 London Olympics gather pace.

Watch for an increase in the value of the pound and a much needed fillip for the British economy.
