Was this the large earthquake that Ken Ring predicted for the last week of September?

A large 5.8 magnitude earthquake (see above for location) struck off the east coast of  New Zealand at 11.42 pm tonight. It was felt from the Bay of Plenty to Hawkes Bay.

Earlier in the evening the USGS also reported a 4.6 magnitude earthquake at the other end of the country, near the Auckland Islands, at 9.18pm
