Police searching for missing Wanganui woman Marice McGregor say they have found a body in a deep ravine off State Highway 4, about 20km north of Wanganui.

Ms McGregor was last seen on 19 April collecting pine cones in the Lismore forest, near to where her car was found abandoned.

Her wallet was found in her car but her missing cellphone was activate briefly in Fielding the day after her disappearance.

According to a report in the Dom Post she had been in an internet relationship with a man for about a year before she went missing.

Our thoughts are with Ms McGregor’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

Police are still looking for another missing woman Emma Campbell, from Christchurch whose car was found on the Port Hills near Christchurch after she vanished on  1 May.
