Our thoughts are with the family and friends of a woman who died in North Shore, Auckland on Saturday.
Police have confirmed that the woman suffered a violent death in a house that was involved in a fire, they’ve started a homicide inquiry but have not released details about the cause of death. She has yet to be named and lived on View Road in the suburb of Glenfield. A man, said to be suffering from severe burns, was found nearby and is now in an induced coma in hospital.
New Zealand has the fifth highest murder rate in the OECD, as was recently revealed by a NZ Institute report.
The deceased woman was later named as 43 year old British immigrant Jacqueline Blackbourn,
